Heinz Julen wanted “to be honest in his art” and asked himself the question “why?” concerning his creativity. He provided a partial and concrete explanation by turning to furniture: “It has a well-defined function.”

Whether it involves pictures or furniture, the genesis of the object is always the same: the salvaging of various ordinary materials and the adaptation of their original function. (cf.Marcel Duchamp)

These works are a kind of “reclamation” which plays its part in the continuity of heritage. The concept of furniture plays its part in a process of global art, “Gesamtkunstwerk”.
